Getting enough protein in your regular diet can be a hard task in itself, so imagine how hard it must be if you are a vegetarian or vegan? But don’t give up on your lifestyle choice if your having trouble getting enough protein each day because I have a few tips on how you can achieve this. Also note if you are not a vegetarian these tips can add to your personal diet as well, because I could never give up steak or chicken but I still practice these healthy vegetarian meals. It is also a great tool to have when taking on the task of controlling physical hunger and losing fat in the process.

  • Protein powder – adding whey protein to your cereal or oatmeal is a simple and effective way to get some nutrition and protein into your body to be used during the day.
  • Eat more beans – Beans are jam packed with protein and can be a great lunch or even dinner if prepared right. Just be ready to deal with the consequences (you know what I mean)
  • Go nuts – Eating nuts such as; Almonds, cashews, Brazil nuts, regular peanuts all contain high amounts of protein and can be added to things such as salads, stir Fry’s, or even eating them right out of the bag.
  • Soy products – There are a lot of new and up coming soy products, hell you can even get desert tofu now, and don’t forget about my secret tofu recipe.

Eating a lot of plant proteins can pretty much take care of your body however so keep eating all the fruits, veggie’s and whole wheats and you should be fine. I recommend the other ways of getting vegetarian proteins if you are looking to add muscle mass or if you think you aren’t eating enough plant protein.

Making sure you eat healthy is the key point for the healthy living blog, and whenever you can substitute junk food for healthy nutritious food you need to try and make that step. Especially if your getting into high power training workout`s like doing squats or mastering the deadlift with proper technique. Any questions as always can be sent to taylor@mensgarage.com and I will do my best to get back that day. I`ve been pretty Sharpe doing it so far and its been almost 200 now haha.

Take care and healthy living!

I’ve been a vegetarian for a few years, but I felt like I had to increase my protein intake — sure I eat my beans and legumes, but I’m not a big whey protein. I found a protein supplement online that’s working really well for me, it’s called Nutribody and it’s completely vegetarian and made of brown rice and pea protein. Doesnt make me bloated like other supplements I’ve tried because it doesnt have dairy. Give it a whirl!

Awesome advice Chris! Making adjustments to your diet like this is a great example of how you can control your weight.
