Choosing a Fat Burner That Works for You

Submitted by on December 2, 2008 – 9:41 pmNo Comment

What are Fat Burners?

Fat burners sound intimidating, but most are a blend of specific ingredients which help boost your metabolism (the rate at which your body breaks down calories), give you energy (usually a stimulant boost), and specific diuretics (helping to drop some water weight which is held in the cell), also certain burners aid in appetite control.

What are the Benefits of Fat Burners?

Fat burners will provide an extra boost and motivation to an individual looking to drop or maintain body fat, better alertness and energy through the day, help to control food cravings.

What are the side effects?

  • Increased blood pressure/heart rate (in certain high stimulant burners) consult with your doctor if you’re taking any medication or have a history of heart disease.
  • “Jitters” basically edginess and anxiety due to too many stimulants.
  • Sleeplessness: avoid taking too late in the day.

When to take Fat Burners & How much should I take?

All products will have a “recommended” dosage, most of the time starting low and working higher once a tolerance has developed. Try timing your dosages and aim for the same time everyday to prevent missing a dosage. Do not exceed recommended dosages!

Are Fat Burners right for you?

This is a tough question to answer; many people getting back into the swing of things in the gym do like to have an initial boost of energy and like to see a bit faster results which a good burner will provide. For someone looking for a quick fix to their flip flop dieting and exercising a burner could be a mistake, there is no magic pill. These will help you if you’re starting to exercise regularly and making better food choices.

What ingredients do Fat Burners contain?

  • Stimulants (Ephedrine, Caffeine Anhydrous, Synephrine HCL, Bitter Orange, Guarana, ect.)
  • Antioxidants/EFA’s (Green Tea Extract, Sesamin, CLA)
  • Adrenoreceptor Blocker (Yohimbine HCL)
  • Appetite Suppressors (Hoodia)

What are some Examples of Fatburners?

• VPX – Meltdown
• Allmax Nutrition – Rapidcuts
Nutrex – Lipo 6
• Nutrex – Lipo 6X
• Universal – Animal Cuts

What I think about Fat Burners?

In my own opinion fat burners will work under the right circumstances and if the proper advice and education is given to the consumer regarding diet & exercise. Many people complain about gaining weight after using a product, typically this person maintained a certain healthy lifestyle while using the product got results then after it was gone went back to eating terrible food and not exercising, thus blaming the product for their lack of motivation. On the other hand I feel any exercise is good exercise so if someone is going to invest $30-$70 on a product that will get them into the gym and moving then perfect the product is serving a purpose. For someone who takes it and sits at home… you’re wasting your money. Just remember focus on your core diet & training the results will come.
