This Saturday, June 7th 2008 will be the 139th running of the Belmont stakes. Its no question the popular horse Big Brown is the heavy favorite, but here are a few facts to keep in mind this Saturday when your buds are throwing out some outrageous bets.

-First off, Big Brown has only a 5-0 record, which is small for a 3 year old horse. He has been hurt before and had to miss some smaller races where he may have gained some experience.

-For the past week Big Brown has been nursing a hoof injury, and who knows how this will affect the big guy.

-Getting the triple crown is tougher then beating chuck Norris in an arm wrestle, its only been done 11 times so far, and has not been accomplished in the last 30 years.

-The New York Giants…

So take some light action with the guys, and make a stupid bet of a beer against their six pack, and if the upset doesn’t happen, then hey at least you’re not riding the band wagon like the rest of the world.
